Novica Review and Giveaway
I want to share with you about a fair trade artisan website I came across recently called NOVICA. In association with National Geographic they give talented artisans around the world an opportunity to express their talents and provide them access to the world market. Originally from an Asian country, I am personally aware of the talent of such artisans and how it is rarely exposed. Many of them live in poverty without basic necessities though they have such creative abilities. The website does a great job at brindging the gap and is a one stop place for all kinds of gifts from stunning jewelry to household decor that are handmade and shipped directly from the artisans that created them all the way to your doorstep. The thing I like the best is that each gift comes with a note about the wonderful people who made your gift and the country they are from.
It is really easy to navigate and order items on the NOVICA website. My favorite section was the jewelry made of different gemstones like the
I bought the Amethyst dangle earrings, ‘Colorful Waterfall’ for myself and a pair of Natural Fiber Journals as a gift for a friend. The ‘gift finder’ tab makes it easy to find gifts for different occasions and in the price range of your choice. Once shipped, you will be provided with a tracking number to track your shipment. Shipping is an average of $5 that is very reasonable for international shipping and the items arrive much before the estimated date.
I loved the way the items arrived beautifully gift wrapped with a red ribbon on them and it was hard to believe it was shipped from the other side of the world. Each gift also had a note about the artisan who crafted the gifts and that made it even more special. My Amethyst earrings were gorgeous and its craftsmanship was impressive. The journals were handmade of natural fibers and dyed with natural dyes and showed great talent. I have truly come to appreciate the talent and am glad they have a platform to share their work.
NOVICA also gives you an opportunity to partner with them as a business consultant through their NOVICA LIVE division. The starter kits are only $199 and have over $400 worth of samples and $150 in business materials. If you are interested, you can request more information here. For the section, ‘where did you hear about us?’, I would love it if you could mention my blog address www.redsticksavings.com when you fill the form.
You can also host a party to showcase the products on NOVICA and connect your family and friends to the work of the artisans around the world. In addition you get a $100 credit for NOVICA just for hosting and other discounts for your personal purchases! This is just one way to help the families of the talented artists and have fun doing it.
