Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop Review:

I had been shopping for a steam mop to replace my very basic vacuum for quite some time, so when I heard I would get the Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop for review, I could not wait to try it. I will be sharing/ posting periodic reviews and future videos on how the mop works over time. With a toddler at home, it is very important for me to have a mop that not just cleans the home but disinfects it. This steam mop cleans by disinfecting 99.9% of harmful bacteria.

The twin tank system lets you clean either with just the steam option or with both steam and the Hoover Cleaning solution. Our flooring has hard wood, tile and carpet and using a mop that cleans all three without damaging them was very important. I was especially nervous to try the steam on our hardwood floors but when I did, it did a great job of cleaning the wood floors, disinfecting them and leaving them spotless clean. It also worked great on my kitchen and bathroom tiles. It also did not leave the floors sticky, a problem that I have sometimes experienced with other mops. The Hoover cleaning solution however cannot be used on carpets and carpets are to be refreshed with the steam only option. I would have loved to be able to use the cleaning solution on my carpets to remove tough stains. The Hoover Mop comes with microfiber pads of two different kinds, one for the hardwood floors and two for the carpets. A carpet glider helps glide the mop on the carpet and a cooling tray is also provided to rest the mop when not in use to prevent damage to the floors and protect the kids. The microfiber pads can be washed in a regular washer and they come out clean.

The mop is fairly simple to use. You fill the twin tanks with water and the solution and then turn the power on for it to heat up which it did in just a few seconds. There is a control that helps you choose between steam only cleaning or to clean with both steam and solution. The steam trigger releases the steam while mopping. The trigger had to be kept pressed constantly for the steam to work but since the trigger is located in a place where you grip the handle anyway, it did not bother me much. The features that I liked the best in this mop is the swivel mop head that is flexible and triangular and clean any corner. The mop can also be used in an almost horizontal position, so cleaning under furniture like the bed that is hard to move around, is easy . The second feature I liked was that the power cord is really long compared to my previous vacuum and it made it easy to clean without having to constantly re-plug. I had to refill my tanks around three times to finish cleaning the entire home but it is easy and takes less than a minute for each refill. The Hoover solution refills as with any vacuum or mop can be a little expensive, but at the end of the day it feels good to know that your home is clean and safe for your child and others.

I was very pleased with the performance of the Hoover Twin Tank Steam Mop and would highly recommend it if you are shopping around for steam mops. Currently  it sells on Amazon for $99. and its an awesome product for the price!

“I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own.”

That’s not a bad price for a steam mop, so long as it does the job. :)
